As a side note they told us last Friday that there was only about a 5% chance of us having a baby today. While there is only about 3% of pregnancies that have a baby in the breech position at 38 weeks, we figured our odds were pretty good and came to the hospital fully prepared. Or at least Sara did.
So we got some pretty sweet lookin duds and they told us that we would be parents very shortly. Sara was magically whisked away to the operating room and I was feed graham crackers and milk and told to wait until further notice (pretty much welcome to the rest of my life). When I arrived in the delivery room Sara was all numbed up and they began the operation. About a minute and a half later the doctor told us that we were the new parents of a brand new daughter, wrapped up beautifully in a 4lb 14.5oz 18 inch package.
I'd always heard rumors that there is 1/64 negro blood in the Askew clan. Our baby got that gene and was born with the black foot!
